عبارة عن إعطاء مقدمة عامة لعلم نظم المعلومات الجغرافية وهو علم لجمع,وادخال, ومعالجة, وتحليل, وعرض, واخراج المعلومات الجغرافية والوصفية لاهداف محددة . وهذا التعريف يتضمن مقدرة النظم على ادخال المعلومات الجغرافية (خرائط, صور جوية, مرئيات فضائية) والوصفية

الهدف
تطوير مهارات المشاركين العلمية والعملية في استخدام نظم المعلومات الجغرافية والاستفادة القصوى منها ، وتهدف هذه الدورة التدريبية إلى التعرف على المبادئ الأساسية لنظم المعلومات الجغرافية واستخداماتها. وسوف يكون التطبيق باستخدام برنامج الـ ArcGIS لتمكين المتدرب من التعرف على ما يأتي:
– المفاهيم الأساسية لنظم المعلومات الجغرافية (GIS).
– البيانات المكانية وتمثيلها في نظم المعلومات الجغرافية.
– أساليب التحليل المكاني والزماني للظواهر الجغرافية.
– إنتاج التقارير والجداول والخرائط الرقمية.
وسوف تسعى الدورة إلى التركيز على التطبيقات العملية.
