. **Nerve Cell Repair**:

   - When a nerve is injured, the body initiates a repair process to restore its function.

Here are some key points:

     - **Axon Degeneration**: Shortly after injury, the proximal and distal ends of the nerve separate.

Axonal sprouts form, allowing for potential nerve regeneration.

     - **Myelin Clearance**: Around the 7th day, macrophages (immune cells) clean up debris from axons and myelin.

**Regeneration**: If the injury is at the axon's end, regeneration can occur. The distal segment disintegrates, and cytoplasmic elements accumulate, promoting nerve healing.

Clinical Presentation**: Nerve damage may cause reduced function, numbness, tingling, pain, sensitivity changes, and muscle weakness.

Diagnostic Procedures**: Electromyography, nerve conduction studies, pain assessment, and muscle strength evaluation.

management**: Cryotherapy, exercise, neurorehabilitation, and surgery].

. **Wallerian Degeneration**:

   - Wallerian degeneration is an active process that occurs after nerve injury:

     - **Definition**: It's anterograde degeneration of the distal axon due to a nerve lesion.

     - **Timeline**: Typically occurs 7 to 21 days after the injury.

     - **Stages**:

Axon Degeneration**: Separation of proximal and distal ends, followed by axonal sprout formation.

Myelin Clearance**: Macrophages clear axonal and myelin debris.

Regeneration**: If the axon's end is intact, granular disintegration occurs, allowing for nerve regeneration.

Clinical Signs**: Reduced function, numbness, pain, and muscle weakness.

Diagnostic Tools**: Electromyography, nerve conduction studies, and sensory tests.

Management**: Cryotherapy, exercise, neurorehabilitation, and surgey
