In this lecture, we explained System Design of Medical Robots for Ultrasound Procedures
The design of the robotic finger will be inspired by the anatomy and biomechanics of the human finger. This will include incorporating features such as:
• Multiple degrees of freedom: The finger will have three joints at the metacarpophalangeal (MCP), proximal interphalangeal (PIP), and distal interphalangeal (DIP) joints, allowing it to move in a natural way.
• Tactile sensors: The finger will be equipped with tactile sensors to provide feedback on its environment. This will enable the finger to grip and manipulate objects with precision.
• Biomimetic skin: The finger will have a biomimetic skin that replicates the mechanical and sensory properties of human skin. This will give the finger a natural feel and enable it to interact with objects in a more delicate way.
This research project encompasses a comprehensive exploration of the integration of various engineering fields, including mechanics, electronics, electricity, and design, in the development of an open-source humanoid robot. The primary objective of this endeavor is to contribute to society by presenting an entertaining and interactive robotic platform that serves as a representation of technological advancements. Additionally, the project aims to enhance the societal acceptance of robots as a pervasive technology in the modern world.
