Data and algorithms What is an algorithm? There is no precise definition. A possible description: a finite sequence of well-defined steps to transform words. Even this is too general. Instead, we use some more particular algorithm model: e.g., Turing machine, RAM machine, Markov algorithm, neural network, cellular automata, genetic algorithm, finite automata, etc. These are theoretical models, and their use is inconvenient.
